The right map becomes a centerpiece for discussion, but how does that happen? The software, technology and data are key supporting characters, but it turns out those who have questions or manage the questions wield a power that brings people together around a topic. Join this session to see examples and see how you can contribute to better maps on any topic. ArcGIS Living Atlas provides thousands of ready-to-use maps, layers and tools to the GIS community. Policy Maps are a part of the Living Atlas approach to bringing the data to life in useful map information products.

About the Presenters:

Jim Herries

Jim Herries is a Senior Principal GIS Engineer and GIS Engineering Lead for ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. As a geographer, he has worked at Esri in Redlands, California since 1994. Jim creates and edits thousands of maps in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online every year and works closely with many ArcGIS teams in their use of ArcGIS Living Atlas. He focuses on mapping and related capabilities to help GIS users bring their data to life and reveal insights. Each day, Jim looks for user experiences that prevent or constrain users' abilities to create expressive and effective maps.
