2020 Census Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) Operation Promotion
Presentation Outline:
This presentation highlights one of the major geographic operations leading up to the 2020 Census. The Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) operation provides a voluntary opportunity for governments to review and update the census address list used to conduct the decennial census. Information regarding other geographic programs also will be presented at the conclusion of the LUCA discussion.
About the Speaker:
Meredith Gillum is a geographer with the U.S. Census Bureau’s Geography Division. Her career began in 1995, as a geographic specialist in the Dallas Regional Office. Serving as the 2010 Census geographic coordinator for Dallas, she and her staff worked to implement a variety of geographic programs and operations in support of the decennial census and current surveys. Recently, she helped author the geographic delineation component of the 2020 Census Detailed Operational Plan for Geographic Programs. Her focus has now turned to supporting the 2020 Census Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) operation.
