Asset Management: Building a Foundation for Smart Decisions
Presentation Outline:
Cities across the country are faced with aging infrastructure and limited funding. The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) realized the need to better understand where their assets were located as well as their condition to help prioritize their work and understand their aging infrastructure. This presentation will focus on their efforts to do a citywide inventory and condition assessment of pavement, curbs, traffic signals, streetlights, sidewalks, ramps, signs, pavement striping and pavement symbols. As well as TPW’s efforts to implement an asset management software solution.
About the Speakers:
Elizabeth Young, GISP
Elizabeth is an IT Manger at the City of Fort Worth. She has worked for the City in various capacities for over 16 years with a total of 23 years of GIS experience. She has been working to help the City of Fort Worth in the asset management arena since 2009.
