Abstract 1

Converting Data Types with Arcade Expressions

Janny Phung is an Geospatial Technician at the City of Austin's Public Works Department. Janny uses Arcade Expressions to configure online applications without altering the authoritative datasets that drive the tools.

Abstract 2

Quick Intro to FME, and Supplementing with Python When Necessary (Demo)

FME is a data integration platform that has excellent support for spatial data. It can be used to create automated and re-usable workflows that connect systems and transform data. Chaz will provide a brief introduction to the software and demonstrate how to supplement FME with Python programming when necessary.

Chaz Armijo is an IT Application Analyst at the City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department. Chaz uses FME and other GIS technologies to administer a stormwater utility fee which provides over 95% of the department’s funding. He manages the data quality and processes to ensure fees are accurately assessed for over two hundred thousand customers on an on-going basis.

Abstract 3

Deep dive into the local bar scene with FME (Demo)

Kevin and Chaz will expand on the introduction to FME by working through a simple location analysis – and they may need your help!

Kevin Schilly is currently an IT Geospatial Analyst with the City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department. Kevin works on the Drainage Utility Fee team and assists in the management of data, standards, and customer inquiries related to the drainage charge administered by the City of Austin.

Both Chaz and Kevin’s FME workspaces (with data included) will be available for download after the presentation.

Please bring your laptop.
