UNT's new GIS + Computer Science Program


Presentation Outline:

This webinar focuses on the need to develop curriculum and academic programs that produce the next generation of geospatial industry professionals who can integrate GIS with computational technologies such as high-performance computing, machine learning & AI, and big data. This industry-academic panel will discuss emerging trends in the geospatial industry as well as the need to develop multidisciplinary academic programs such as the new Bachelor of Science in GIS+CS at the University of North Texas (UNT).



About The Speakers:

Dr. Tiwari is a health and medical geographer whose research interests lie at the intersection of geographic information science, spatial analysis, and public health. His research focuses on the development of methods for disease mapping, environmental health surveillance, vulnerability analysis, and the application of location models for emergency response plan analysis and design. Dr. Tiwari coordinates the GIS+CS program and undergraduate health GIS certificate at UNT.
