Enterprise Databases: Tips and Tricks for a Distributed System

Presentation Outline:
Enterprise databases offer many capabilities that cannot be obtained using file or personal geodatabases. Those capabilities come with a lot of responsibilities, especially when you intend to leverage your GIS data across an organization of many users, internal and external, via the web. This presentation will show you important tips and tricks that will streamline and facilitate the interaction between the GIS practitioner, data user, and database system.

About The Speaker:

John May started his GIS career with the US Forest Service in 1989. Since that time he has started a GIS lab for the University of Georgia, been a corporate GIS director for a national engineering firm, and operated as a hired gun for many different clients and projects.
