Our September Speaker Series will be a comprised of a panel that showcases a group of new geospatial managers. Together we will explore common stories of career growth, management challenges, and unique perspectives on what they wished they knew before stepping into their current role.

Meg Adaya

City of Frisco, Texas
Meg Adaya is the GIS Supervisor at the City of Frisco, Texas. She received her BA in Geography and GIS Certificate in 2008 from the University of North Texas. She has been working in local government as a GIS professional for 15 years.
Amy Cleare
GIS Manager Houston Water
Houston Public Works
Amy Cleare received her BS degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia in 2007. She has applied geographic principles as a GIS professional in many industries and projects. These include parcel fabric editing, seismic oil & gas, air navigational data, LiDAR/Imagery processing in the defense industry, epidemiological spatial analysis, archeological data conversion, and water and wastewater utility data. She enjoys Sudoku, hiking, cooking, Karaoke, and spending time with her family.
Jess Neuner
GIS Manager
City of San Marcos, Texas
Jess is the IT GIS Manager for the City of San Marcos, TX. Her team is responsible for the enterprise GIS system at the City and supporting departments with their maps and data needs. Jess spent most of her career as an individual contributor in consulting and software development roles. She’s been in a manager position for about three and a half years now and, well, what a journey it’s been.
Sara Thompson
GIS Section Manager
Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT)
Sara is the GIS Section Manager for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Multimodal Planning Division. Her team manages the characteristics of Arizona roadways in GIS and supports ADOT with maps and data. She graduated from Arizona State University with a GIS certificate, a BS in Biology, and a minor in Business. Sara is the incoming chair of URISA's Vanguard Cabinet, a group of young GIS professionals working to provide resources, mentoring and networking to other young professionals.
Nicholas Willette, GISP
GIS Manager
City of Euless, Texas
Nicholas is the GIS Manager for the City of Euless, and is responsible for all GIS services in the city including Public Works, Planning and Development, Parks and Community Services, and more. Nicholas graduated from University of North Texas with a Masters in Information Science, and has had a career in GIS spanning from the Marine Corps to public and private surveying and later into municipal GIS. Nicholas is the current Board Vice Chairman and Communications Committee Chairman for URISA Texas.
